King’s Crown Organic Farm is a diverse row crop farm and ranch located along the Snake River in Southern Idaho. Nate and his family are the owners and operators of King’s Crown and they were one of the first 10 farms to be certified organic in Idaho. They are one of the original vendors of the Ketchum Farmers’ Market. They grow Alfalfa, wheat, dry beans, potatoes, onions, and a truck garden including tomatoes, eggplants, summer squash, peppers, melons including many varieties of cantaloupe and honeydew, watermelon, and corn. They also raise beef all of which keep them very busy on the farm. Nate is a third generation Idahoan and has been farming for over 30 years. Like most southern Idaho farms, King’s Crown is irrigated and they are located in the “banana belt” of southern Idaho with the hot days producing the sweet and juicy melons that makes Nate famous.
