The end of the season has arrived for our local farmer’s market with today’s market in Ketchum (10/6) and Thursday’s market in Hailey (10/8). All of our vendors still have an excellent selection available for sale. Fall harvest has brought a wonderful variety of fruits and vegetables to the farmers stalls and our craftsmen, wine sellers and chefs off some of the finest products in the valley – all handcrafted with loving care.

Come on down and show your support for our local economy. There will be some great deals and you can speak with our vendors to find out what and where their products will be available after the markets are over.

Thanks for all your support. See you at the market!

Well, there are two weeks left for the Wood River Farmer’s Market in both Ketchum and Hailey – all of our vendors still have an incredible selection of items for sale. This week Piers Lamb will be playing music in Hailey and if you have not had the chance to see him this summer we highly recommend it.

These beautiful fall days lend themselves perfectly for a stroll around the markets and a chance to speak with our vendors. Many of them sell within the valley besides just at the market, so if you are looking for items away from market day speak with them and they will be happy to help arrange pickup or let you know where to find them.

See you at the market!

Except for some late Fall fruits you can now find most whatever can be grown in our central Idaho climate available at our vendors booths. Heirloom tomatoes, corn, plums, pears, squash have been some favorite items lately. Keep an eye out for gourds and pumpkins arriving as well as the mood shifts towards fall. Of course all the ready to eat foods offer quick and easy ways to pick up a meal on the go and still have a delicious, local treat.

Not only is this great for feasting on the freshest of fruits and vegetable but now is a good time to make purchases for canning and long term storage. Talk with your favorite vendors about making a bulk purchase and get some good ideas for long term storage of their products. That way you can store away a bit of summer to enjoy on a cold winters day.

This week Tuck Wilson will be playing tunes in Ketchum – Hailey music is ‘To Be Announced’ but we hope to have a special surprise.

At both markets this week Derek Gallegos – owner of 310 Main in Hailey will be giving chef demonstrations using items available the market. These demonstrations are very popular and an excellent way to learn new ideas for your market purchases.
