Maintaining more than 25,000 endangered vegetable varieties, the Seed Savers Exchange is the largest non-governmental seed bank in the United States, most of their collection having been brought to North America by members’ ancestors who immigrated from Europe, the Middle East, Asia and other parts of the world.

This tremendous resource, located on an 890 acre farm in Decorah, Iowa  is now celebrating their 35th anniversary. Check out their site for lots of great info including information on seed saving, ordering from their collection & becoming a member. According to the Seed Rack Section you can buy seeds retail right here in the Wood River Valley at Webb Landscape in Bellevue (788-2066).

Of course, you can have too much waiting, so many of our farmers have season extenders (greenhouses, hoophouses, special fabrics in the field) that allow us to enjoy summer’s bounty earlier in the spring and later in the fall.

We’ll update this page throughout the season to reflect what’s coming on strong at the market.

As always, chicken, beef, lamb, eggs, jams, honey, baked goods and more are available all summer.
