Each week we have been hoping for markets full of sunshine and everyone knows we are well overdue. Perhaps this is the week! Bring your umbrella but be prepared to leave it in your car and don’t forget the sunscreen.

A wider variety of produce will begin to show up in the booths of our vendors. Check with them to see what may be growing for July as well to help plan your shoppping. Of course lots of great items that you can usually find at the market – pies, jams, sausages, lamb, gourmet greens, baked goods, sauces, wine, BBQ – the list goes on…
If you have been to the market already this summer, thanks for your support. If not, well come on down – check out the heart of fresh & local in Idaho.
Idaho Seasonal Produce Calendar
June 21, 2009
Here is a seasonal produce calendar provided by IdahoPreferred.com. It is a great general reference guide for what may be currently available. Since many growers at the Wood River markets have higher altitude farms their growing seasons & area specific items may vary some from this calendar.
Speaking with the vendors at the market will provide you with the best information on what will be available and can help them know if their customers are looking for something specific.

Week Two – June 16 Ketchum & June 18 Hailey

As we continue to roll into summer, market vendors will be showing up each week with a wider variety of produce. Come get a delicious glass of Lyndsey’s Lemonade and browse the amazing selection of tasty goods available. Lots of greens available, green onions, beets, arugula. Gain an advantage over our short mountain growing season with already growing herbs and tomato plants. Tasty ready to eat food from The BBQ Guy and delicious gyros from T & T Dawgs offer a quick dinner idea.
This week the Ketchum market will be showcasing the musical talents of local favorites Fletcher Brock & Jim Paisley. In Hailey come sooth your troubles with the sweet alt-country sound of Piers Lamb. Thanks to all the good folks who came out in the intermittent weather last week. We know it is well worth the visit and our vendors appreciate your support.
